This 90-minute complimentary session is designed for local stakeholders that are invested in optimizing outcomes for children with disabilities of all ages. We are inviting special educators, administrators, parents and community agency representatives free of charge, to hear the good news of Special Education as seen through the eyes of Bob Barrows, Special Education Consultant currently working for the Colorado Department of Education and Mesa County Valley School District 51. Participants will be exposed to the professional learning formats that Bob is using nationwide to draw comparisons to their current practice and experiences.

  • Engage with local colleagues on best practices in the area of Special Education
  • Uncover gaps in best practices within Special Education
  • Refine your expectations for supporting students and families
  • Explore Interagency Collaboration and hear updates about how communities are currently being revitalized in Colorado
  • Hear from both community and national partners at the Arc and the Parent Training Institute
  • CEUs and clock hours for recertification are available

This event will help you take an objective look at how we are supporting students with disabilities while also receiving a rejuvenating opportunity to connect with local colleagues. You'll be able to conclude your work week in a rejuvenating location and reflect on how we all are unified in ensuring a symbiotic path to adult success for our students and young adults with exceptionalities. Feel free to arrive early to walk the tranquil grounds and enjoy the scenery and wildlife in the area.

Beverages and light snacks will be provided.

This event is complimentary but registration is required.

Glen Eyrie Conference Center invites guests to focus on what matters most. Just minutes from downtown Colorado Springs, and adjacent to the Garden of the Gods rock formations, Glen Eyrie is an English Tudor-style castle built by General William Jackson Palmer, the founder of Colorado Springs. Today the property is owned by the Navigators, an international Christian Ministry, serving the local community and international guests with gracious hospitality and unparalleled grandeur. 

There are 17 guest rooms in the castle, as well as four meeting rooms, two dining rooms, and 24 fireplaces. A total of 95 guest rooms are located in seven buildings across a breathtaking property.

Glen Eyrie is a place that leaves you in awe and invites your to be a part of something much bigger than yourself. 

Guests have access to onsite, private hiking trails, fire pits, sports equipment, board games, and team-building activities, Afternoon Tea and historic Tours, as well as partnerships with local attractions for adventures in and around Colorado Springs.
