Join us for a two-day conference where you’ll develop a Special Education Leadership Impact Plan tailored to your school or district, integrating High Leverage Practices (HLPs), inclusive leadership strategies, and data-driven decision-making to enhance the climate, structure, and performance of special education programs. Through self-reflection, case study analysis, and collaborative discussions, participants will identify key challenges in their setting and outline actionable steps to drive sustainable improvements in student outcomes, staff collaboration, and family engagement.

The conference provides individualized learning. You’ll gain the skills to implement best practices in Special Education, empowering you to create a seamless path to adult success for students with disabilities. Specific Autism Programming professional development also available.

What you get from the conference:

  • A pre-assessment to guide your course selection and learning path.
  • Graduate credit (1) from Adams State University.
  • Resource book: Choose either A Principal’s Guide to Special Education or The Practical Guide to High-Leverage Practices in Special Education.
  • Small group sessions for in-depth networking and nationwide collaboration.
  • Individualized feedback and support from Bob Barrows and Adrielle McCarty to advance your programs.
  • A Special Education Leadership Impact Plan.

Price includes:

  • Lodging (single occupancy) Wednesday and Thursday night. Double occupancy also is available when requested; contact Bob Barrows. 
  • Breakfast and lunch on Thursday and Friday
  • Late afternoon check in on Wednesday
  • Friday mid-day check out as event concludes at 3:00 p.m. If you would like to extend your stay, please contact the event location. 
  • Wednesday evening meet and greet social hour from 7:00-8:00 p.m. (optional)
