This two-day professional learning event is designed for high school administrators to self-assess their continuum of special education programs and services in their specific high school through interactive dialogue with colleagues based on nationally recognized standards. Participants will create a plan for improvement based on the strengths and opportunities for growth identified through the assessment of 21 different special education elements that are critical for success in our nation’s high schools.

As a result of this two day professional learning event, the High School Administrator will be able to:
- Analyze the areas of climate, structure, and performance according to nationally recognized standards of best practices in the field of Special Education as it pertains to high school leadership.
- Describe the areas of strength as well as areas of growth in the elements of climate, structure and performance for Special Education in the High School for which they lead.
- Compare their current state of climate, structure and performance for Special Education to national standards as well as to other high schools across the country.
- Integrate new ideas for high school leadership through collaboration with nationwide colleagues in the areas of climate, structure and performance for Special Education as related to nationally recognized standards of best practices.\
- Apply areas of strength and growth to a plan for improvement for their High School Special Education program for which they lead.
